OK so a few thoughts here. First, congrats on who’s graduating! I have two kids graduating this year as well! Now your plan to cut the tenderloins in half, I would personally reconsider that. Why are you cutting them in half? Do you not have room to get all seven in there without cutting them? Pork tenderloins can dry out in the smoker if they are smoked a little too long, and cutting them in half I fear would increase the opportunity for them to dry out. If possible I would personally leave them whole. Next, you ask about the time it would take, and this is really hard to judge. Every smoker is different and some pork tenderloins can to be a little bit plumper than other ones so it is difficult to know exactly when they would be done. Do you have a digital thermometer? I would use that as your guide to know when they are done. That way when it reaches your desired internal temperature you know that it is done and the chance of them drying out is so minimal. I hope this helps, and if you have anymore questions feel free to fire away!
This electric smoker takes the lead in its category. While its competitors boast similar features, this smoker still reigns because of its affordable price. With a massive cooking area, this is an investment that you need for all of your outdoor smoking needs. Smoke all you want!
I recommend using the Thermoworks Smoke Pro Series 2 Channel High Temp Cooking Probe for continuous monitoring of the meat’sinternal temperaturein addition to monitoring the smoker’s internal temperature during the smoking and cooking process. We LOVE to cook outside! Where we live it is quite warm year round, so the last thing we want to do is turn on an oven inside the house. Secondly, cooking outside is a great way to entertain and enjoy the backyard and fresh air with family and friends. For years we have used our BBQ, but recently we got the opportunity to try the brand new Char-Broil Digital Electric Smoker, and we were amazed at how good the food turned out! Let me show you some tips, tricks, and great electric smoker recipes we’ve come up with thus far. 😉 This post brought to you by Char-Broil. Bought mine in November 2013 after reading all the positive reviews. I compared the welds, fit and finish of the Pecos smokers on hand and I chose the best of the three they had in stock. They do vary in quality. After much searching for a smoker of this size, w/ firebox, the Old Country Pecos was my choice and believe me, it is the way to go for an Under $500 smoker of this size and weight. The only option added to my Pecos smoker was the Old Country 3 inch temperature gauge, which was easy to … read more Click to read full text of review titled “Best in Class”.

That’s right. Even electric models must be cured. This crucial step ensures you remove any dangerous machine oils, dust, or other manufacturing materials. These items likely coat the rack and surfaces of your smoker (unintentionally) due to the manufacturing/assembly stage.

First off, we, yes, you and I, have a lot in common! We both love using smokers to cook up some of the most tender, succulent, and mouth-watering BBQ around (of course, we will probably clash when it comes to whose BBQ is the best, but that is what a cook-off is for)! And, we too, like many of you, were once novices. But through years of hard work, a lot of eating, and research, we have molded ourselves into what we consider “Genuine Kings of the Grill!” Experimentation has led us to some of our favorite products on the market, and our goal is to help you find your best electric smoker as well, without all the trial and error we went through.
One of the disadvantages of using an electric smoker, however, is that it is very hard to get that traditional smoke ring (that pink layer of meat on the outside), even if you use a couple of charcoals or wood pellets. Now, this is not going to affect the taste of your meat, but nothing screams “Southern BBQ” like a good ol’ smoke ring!
If you are not watching it, you might miss seeing the smoke and therefore think that it’s not working, so make sure you remove the can within an hour or so to check on it. You can refill it as many times as you need to for the meat that you are smoking.
Before putting the meat to smoke, there is one thing you need to do to make sure you get a flavorful and delicious meal. Use a brine solution to soak meats such as chicken and turkey so that the poultry can get tons of flavor. You can mix salt with some seasonings and soak the food in and leave it overnight to rest.
While other smokers need to be tended constantly, the Bradley Smoker automatically produces clean, cool smoke for up to 9 hours safely and without intervention. -The oven temperature: set the target oven temperature and the smoker will attempt to maintain this temperature while also displaying the actual temperature in the oven.
This is important, because if you leave it open and the smoldering chips get too much air, they can burst into flames which will cause the temperature of your smoker to go way too high up. When you keep the lid closed, the wood will continue to smolder.
Despite that, we still think this is the choice of an electric smoker for beginners. They won’t have to spend too much time trying to figure out and put this thing together. It’s already factory assembled, which takes away a lot of hassle — even pro chefs will appreciate not having to waste time setting it up. Cook all you want, whether it’s beef, pork, vegetables, or even a whole turkey!
At under $180, this electric smoker is a pretty affordable choice. It still offers everything you would need from an electric smoker, and its performance is quite above average, so you actually get more than what it is actually worth.
Easier and more enjoyable way to automatically roast, smoke, and barbecue in the outdoors. You don’t have to go Austin or Kansas City to get delicious barbecue anymore. Smoke for up to 9 hours without…

I smoke brisket often with my electric. I start out at 170 for a few hours (starting around 9pm) with wood chips, then turn up to 195 (no more chips) until I get to aground 165-170 internal (normally around 7-8 in the morning), then wrap in foil with apple juice and take it up to 230 until internal is 200-205. Wrap it in towels and Throw it in the cooler for a couple hours. Ready by noonish.

Many people still advocate soaking wood chips. Give it a shot and see if you like it. Wet chips can produce more smoke, but burn a lot more slowly, and getting them started can be a pain on occasions. A mix of wet and dry chips can be a good compromise.

I use a home made smoker. I find that mesquite is a little strong. My preference is oak, as the main wood, and cherry. I place the cherry on the outside perimeter of the oak. The cherry adds a great sweet flavour. Caution, do not over smoke. I find 2 hours is plenty.

You need to keep in mind that, during the summer, these smokers can reach critical temperatures. However, most of the modern vertical smokers have mechanisms like temperature control and thermostats to prevent this from happening. These things combined will ensure that the temperature doesn’t reach a critical point.
Beginners will have no trouble using this product. Although it lacks some modern features, it does the job, but if you’re just starting out, it’s probably best to just stick with the basic functions first. This is perfect if you’re just starting to learn how to smoke foods.
